The general shortage in the numbers of, Mozambique’s casinos is in one sense more or less questionable, in one way or another.
In years gone by, the territory was a location where many South Africans would travel to to detach themselves from the astonishingly confining regulations on wagering (and, it has to be said, mixing with other races) that they had at home. As a result, you may think of a picture of a thriving business to serve that tourist trade.
At the same time, maybe it is not considerably an astonishment. The region is undeniably the most destitute over the world, having been through a frightening civil war (followed by crushing floods) from which it is still, very slowly, coming around. This is liable to make a spot lesser of a travel prospect, as much as there is currently a favorable view along several of the country’s outstanding beaches.
It is added to that confirmed that regionally to a certain degree, Mozambique’s casinos have had to compete with many others in the recently liberalized South Africa, which comprises of the well-known Sun City founded by the Kerzner family management.
Here is a list of Casinos in Mozambique:
Maputo: Polana Casino Hotel
There are 78 slot machines and also video poker games, 5 tables of American roulette, four blackjack tables, in addition one poker table.
Namaacha: Sol Libombos Hotel Casino
There are forty slot machines, American roulette, and two tables for poker and also punto banco.
It is thought that over time the total tourism sector in Mozambique will grow greatly. While the local languages are, evidently, African, there is at the same time the fraction of Portuguese from the old colonial power and the new and growing introduction of English, both from South Africa and as part of the world-wide phenomenon. The country is extremely cheap (evidently, as it is extremely poor) and as above, has some of the most stunning beaches world wide, fronting onto the Indian Ocean. Those are the combination of features that make tourism management drool, and as the country ascends out of its existing slump, it is likely that not only will tourism grow, but that the list of Mozambique’s casinos will grow longer also.
While the country is not likely to ever restore its reputation as a destination for partying South Africans, as there are now other options closer to home for them to engross in, the expansion of a long distance tourism business is being set-up. This would be to cater to Europeans hopeful for winter sun, as a break from the dreariness of the Northern Hemisphere winter. In addition, obviously, the most elite prawns (shrimp) in the world come from just offshore, in the Mozambique Channel.
